Journey of Resilience: Vibha Dubey’s Inspiring Story at Bhumi

In today’s edition of the Humans of Bhumi newsletter, we bring you the incredible journey of Vibha Dubey from Madhya Pradesh whose path from an Intern to a Partnerships Consultant – Bhumi College Relations is a story of perseverance, growth, and community impact.

Vibha hails from Mugavali, a small town 175 kilometers from Bhopal. Despite coming from a place with limited opportunities, her determination to excel and make a difference set her on a remarkable journey. She completed her schooling in her hometown and went on to earn a degree in History and English Literature from Gwalior Jiwaji University. Recently, Vibha added to her qualifications with a teaching diploma and a DCA (Diploma in Computer Applications).

Her entry into Bhumi came in May 2023 when she applied for an internship, not expecting it to change her life profoundly. Vibha recalls the initial nervousness she felt as she transitioned into this new role. “I was scared to talk to people and shivering while making my first calls.” she admits. However, over time, she developed confidence, learning valuable skills in communication, teamwork, project management, and operational tasks.

In just a few short months, Vibha’s transformation was remarkable. By September 2023, she had become a full-time consultant at Bhumi, taking on key responsibilities, such as managing campaigns and workshops. One of her proudest achievements was organizing the Good Deeds Day event, which focused on ocean conservation and other environmental issues. She also played a pivotal role in Bhumi’s Plastic-Free July campaign, engaging over 25,000 volunteers – an accomplishment that she remembers with pride.

Vibha’s success is rooted not just in her professional growth but also in her personal passion for helping others. A self-professed animal lover, Vibha often spends her free time feeding and caring for stray animals in her community. “They can’t speak for themselves, so it’s our responsibility to help them.”, she shares, recounting heart-warming stories of the dogs and other animals she has helped over the years.

In addition to her love for animals, Vibha is an avid traveler with dreams of exploring India’s scenic beauty, especially places like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Despite the busy life she leads, she also loves cooking, often preparing meals for her large joint family, which consists of 21 members.

Through her journey at Bhumi, Vibha has learned not only about herself but also about the immense power of education in empowering underprivileged communities. She emphasizes the importance of supporting children’s education, citing her own efforts to raise funds for a young boy who couldn’t afford to attend school. “Education is the foundation of a better future, and we must support every child’s right to it,” she says passionately.

From the shy intern making nervous phone calls to the confident consultant addressing large groups of faculty and volunteers, Vibha’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance, the importance of community, and the transformative impact of education and social work. As Vibha continues to grow in her role, she remains deeply grateful to Bhumi for being more than just a workplace – it has become her second family, one that has nurtured her talents and helped her realize her potential. #HumansOfBhumi
