In 2018, Tanesha Agarwal found herself at a crossroads after completing her college education at JD Birla Institute in Kolkata. As the former president of the NSS Club, Tanesha had a passion for social service, but post-graduation, she felt a void. However, her journey took a transformative turn when she stumbled upon an orientation event by Bhumi, an NGO seeking volunteers for social causes.
A Hopeful Discovery
Intrigued by Bhumi’s mission, Tanesha attended their orientation event at Hope Cafe, just minutes away from her home. There, she was captivated by the organization’s focus on education and various projects.
Choosing the Bhumi’s LEM – Mathematics project, Tanesha embarked on her volunteering voyage. Every Sunday, she traversed to a shelter home in Park Street, Kolkata, armed with knowledge and enthusiasm, to impart the gift of education.

While Tanesha dedicated herself to volunteering with Bhumi, she was also pursuing her MBA and preparing for CAT exams. Today, she balances her professional life as a digital marketer with her commitment to social service. Despite her busy schedule, Tanesha remains deeply involved with Bhumi, leveraging her skills to empower underprivileged children.
